LookSmart has ended the Australia chapter of its existense after anouncing it will be wound down in Australia, after its local assets were sold to Telstra’s directory and online marketing company Sensis.
LookSmart, which was founded in Melbourne and is now headquartered in San Francisco, and listed on both the Nasdaq and the ASX, also announced its chief executive Jason Kellerman would step down. The announcement came just as LookSmart reported higher-than-expected fourth-quarter revenue and plans to halve its workforce.
Recently LookSmart has lost some huge accounts, including MSN and others. I wonder if they will ever bounce back, especially with Kanoodle making so much waves (or ripples).
