Ask.com has just launched a new service which will offer more than 1 million discount deals from national and local merchants across the country. The new feature, Ask Deals is using Ask.com’s search technology to offer those said deals.
Ask.com’s President Scott Garrell said:
“Searches for coupons on Ask.com have shot up almost 50% in 2009. With the holidays approaching, we know this service will help us make an impact with our users.”
Mr. Garrell describe this Ask Deals is being offered as a “search stimulus package.”
Ask Deals is similar to Yahoo Deals, although the former integrates its bargain deals in the standard bargain deals. Ask Deals also link directly to coupons and savings that are listed up front. You can then spread the word about these bargain deals to other via the service’s sharing feature on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Delicious and Digg.
With the Holiday Seasons fast approaching, it is but the right time to launch this kinds of services. With the economic crunch still fresh from people’s mind, I’m pretty sure everyone will go out of their way to be more practical with their Holiday Shopping. And with Yahoo Deals, Ask.com Deals, and Bing Cashback Program, Google would most probably come up with their own search-related-bargain-hunting service.
