To make it faster and easier for customers to find businesses when searching on Google Maps, Google Adwords is implementing some new features to its Local Business Ads that appear on Google Maps. These new features include enhancements to the Ads Information Window and Reporting Capabilities for Adwords advertisers.
The enhanced Information Window for ads appearing on Google Maps’ search results will now have interactive links that will give users various information about the business. This information window usually appears on both organic and paid search results and previously just brings users directly to the business site. With the new feature, users can now interact with the information window to get more information about the business right on the window itself. Users can click on links for getting directions, street view and saving the search results to their Google Maps account. But most useful of these enhancements is a link that will prompt allow users to send the business information to their email or mobile phone.
The other new feature of the Local Business Ads will be rolled out in the coming weeks and it has something to do with ad reporting for advertisers use. This ad reporting functionality will be available at Google Adwords Report Center and advertisers and webmasters can easily access this report by logging on to their Adwords account. The Ad Report gives information that will be helpful in accessing ROIs from local business ads, detailing information such as the number of users who have opened the information window as well as the number of clicks on the new interactive links.
These new enhancements to the Local Business Ads now only help Adwords advertisers in finding ways to better target users of Google Maps who search for their business listings, but helps users as well to quickly find what their looking for when they search for business in Google Maps.
