Google Set to Launch a Music Service

Music service has not been Google’s cup of tea for such a long time now. While others have successfully (or otherwise) implemented  their music downloading or streaming sites, it makes you wonder whether Google has any interest to get into this niche. But that maybe answered soon, as TechCrunch is reporting that Google might actually be launching a still unknown type of music service.Unfortunately, since there are no official statements coming from Google yet about this service, we are left with nothing but to speculate.

Would this be a Yahoo Music type of streaming service with the capability to stream radio progrems? Or would this be an music downloading site that has the potential to go up against the Apple iTunes Store.

Actually, if you are to consider which of the two are the most likely type of music service that Google is planning to launch, I would be inclined to speculate that it would be something like  the iTunes. Why? Because it would be more profitable for Google to sell music which can downloaded to any Android devices than to come up with an online music streaming site.

And besides Google like Apple already has the device that users can use to download music. But based on TC’s report, it would seem that Google is actually planning to launch a music streaming service.  The branding that reads = Google Audio seems more like a music streaming service rather than an online music store.
