MSN Live Search Rolls Out Some New Features

MSN Live Search has been rolling out some new features lately. The latest of which being on its Live Search Products which is now sporting a new look and the site suggestion feature of the main Live Search portal which dives in deeper into search results.

The redesigned Live Search Products now offers users another way to refine their product search results based on user opinions, brands, category, and price range. You can see these categories on the left navigation panel of the Live Search Product main page. In addition, users can now compare prices, user ratings and reviews of a particular product, similar to MSN’s Shopping Search Vertical.

The second improvement has something to do with providing deep links to search results provided by the Live Search crawlers. This is similar to the search within search function introduced by Google search a couple of months ago. But for Live Search, instead of providing another search bar to search within search results, it goes further ahead by suggesting possible sub-pages of the main search results that users would or might be looking for. The suggested links are derived from a user’s previous behavior.

These new features come right after Microsoft has introduced enhancements into its live search news  a couple of days ago. Looks like Microsoft is doing some catching up activities to Google and Yahoo. Well, it better do it double time as Live Search is certainly way behind the two search engines.
