National Cheeseburger Day: Check-In via #Foursquare and Help Fight Hunger

National Cheeseburger Day: Check-In via #Foursquare and Help Fight Hunger

Today is National Cheeseburger Day! As if we really needed an excuse to celebrate the warm juicy goodness of ground beef grilled to perfection, dripping with gooey cheese, nestled in a fluffy warm bun, topped with cool, crisp lettuce, juicy ripe tomatoes, fresh pickles and onions … (I may want a cheeseburger for breakfast now.)  Yes, we have our excuse, but Foursquare, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and Kraft Foods have teamed up to give us a great reason to indulge in a cheeseburger today.

For every Foursquare check-in at a Five Guys today, Kraft Foods will donate the equivalent of a meal at the restaurant (approx. $12.50) to Feeding America. To be sure that your check-in triggers a donation to help feed someone in need, take a moment to visit kraftcheese.com/checkin and connect your Foursquare account.  Then gather up the office for lunch at Five Guys.

A burger-related check-in will earn you extra points and a special “flame broiled” badge today. So, if you happen to live in the Sacramento area and LOVE collecting unique foursquare badges, then the Sacramento Burger Battle is for you.

Money raised by the burger cook-off will go to benefit Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. According to the foursquare blog, “The first 100 people to check in at the battle field on September 18 and unlock the flash special will receive a free Sacramento Burger Battle T-shirt.”

You can be sure this writer has convinced herself to take a burger break today. How about you? Will you make plans to check-in for social good today?
