Pinterest’s Buyable Pins Now Available on iPhone and iPad

Buyable pins, a new Pinterest feature announced earlier this month, are now available to United States iOS users on either the iPhone or iPad app.

With buyable pins you can buy items you find on Pinterest directly without having to leave social network.

You can spot buyable pins on your iOS device by looking for blue price tags, which will make it easy to pinpoint items you can buy when conducting a search. You’ll also be able to filter results by price and compare items by color choices.

If you want to browse only items you can buy, head over to the ‘Shop’ or ‘Shop our picks’ category — which is a curated section of items hand-picked by Pinterest staff.

Payments are processed in the app with either Apple Pay or by entering your credit card information. The company says to expect over 30 million buyable pins to be rolled out over the coming weeks from top brands.

If your business has a Shopify store you can start using buyable pins on your page very simply by logging into your Shopify account and adding the Pinterest channel.

Considering the fact that 75% of all Pinterest usage takes place on phones and tablets, it’s no wonder why buyable pins are being rolled out on mobile first.

As for desktop and Android users, the company says it’s “working hard” to bring this feature to future releases.
