This year, instead of giving out the award for ‘Best Search Blogger’ I thought it may be more appropriate to define part of what being the best is.
- Is someone the best at something because of their ongoing coverage?
- Is someone the best at something because of their research?
- Is someone the best at something because of their influence?
- Is someone the best at something because of what they give?
This year, I thought it a good change in the award routine to change the word ‘Best’ with ‘Most Giving’ to give honor to the top search blogger who is most giving to the search industry by the sharing and openness of information, coverage of changes in search and events, and taking the time out of a busy daily routine of managing a media group, search agency, consulting service or arbitrage empire to actually help others and spread the wealth.
And the voters, you the reader, decided that the Most Giving Search Blogger of 2007 is …. Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz.
Congrats Rand, I guess the Whiteboard Fridays, Sunday night blog posting, Mini-moz Conference and all of the little things you’ve done in 2007, especially the SEOmoz community have paid off.
Here is the very close voting tally:
