Yahoo Launches Go 3.0, The Mobile Search Service Formerly Known as Go 2.0

Yahoo’s participation in the on-going Consumer Electronics Show is by way of the launch of its flagship mobile search service, Yahoo! Go 3.0 which is an update of fairly recently released Yahoo Go 2.0. This time around, the mobile search service promises to deliver of what consumers want, anywhere, anytime.

Currently available for download on more than 30 U.S. mobile devices, with a promise of a release on hundreds of devices worldwide, Yahoo! Go 3.0 has the following new features to boot:

Upgraded Design

Yahoo! Go 3.0 now sports a more intuitive and rich design that maximizes the mobile phone’s small screen. This also speeds up mobile users ability to find the information they need on the mobile web.

The Ideal Starting Point

Yahoo! Go 3.0’s will now be more useful than ever by providing new emails that arrived since a user’s last visit, upcoming calendar appointments, and new Flikcr photos posted by friends. It will also include highly customizable mobile snippets, news headlines, weather conditions and more. Likewise, integration with Yahoo! OneSearch was also enhanced.

Get Exactly What You Want

Users will now enjoy all their favorite content and services from leading mobile publishers using a single client on their mobile phone. Widgets from various web properties such as eBay, MySpace, and MTV will be available in the Yahoo! Go 3.0 widget gallery. Third party widget developers will also be featured in the gallery as well. Who says, Google is the only search engine that is going OpenSocial eh?
