iWon, which was first launched by CBS as a search engine which incentives users to search and click on ads with the result of winning prizes and sweepstakes, has now been relaunched by its parent company in Ask.com and IAC into a gaming and prize specific site with social networking functionality.
“Search to Win” using Ask.com ‘s technology is still an option on iWon, but it seems that the new Prize oriented Social Network now has less emphasis on search as it once did. Users still do, however, have the Search to Win box on their iWon Toolbar and the search box is now safely placed in the less predominate right hand corner of the site, giving much more room to games and ads.
The games have gotten much more Las Vegas as well:
Visitors can play games such as mah jong, blackjack, poker and solitaire as well as instant win games such as Spin2Win. The new site has more than 70 games, up from 10, and there are plans for a total of more than 150 games by the end of the year. iWon estimates there are now 217 million people who play casual games online.
