Bing’s new iPhone app is now available in the Apple’s App Store, and the company stated in an announcement that this release makes Bing even more useful to iPhone users by taking advantage of unique iOS8 functionality.
Here are some of the new features.
Translate The Web
With Bing’s new iPhone app you can translate web pages into your preferred language. This can be done using either the Bing App itself or the Safari browser.
To take advantage of this new feature, tap the Share icon in the app and click ‘Translate’. To set this up to work in Safari, you need to manually add the Bing Translate button to your options.
Bing Today
Now you an add the Bing homepage image and trending topics to your iPhone’s Today Screen. Swiping from the top down on your iPhone’s screen reveals the Today screen, where you can now display Bing’s image of the day and trending topics.
To set this feature up on your iPhone running iOS 8, tap ‘Edit’ on your Today screen and add Bing.
The Bing team says that this update affirms Microsoft’s commitment to Bing: “this release underscores Bing’s increasingly important role as a service layer across Microsoft and beyond.”
