Commission Junction’s New Spidering Detective
Brian Livingston just came out with another great article about new initiatives CJ is taking to fight affiliate hijinks and clean the network up. Cookie stuffing, forced clicks and security exploits are the 3 three kinds of prohibited behaviors CJ just contracted a company called Cyveillance to help them police and monitor. I’m liking this guy Brian’s articles! Just last week he wrote about CJ giving ShopAtHomeSelect a swift kick out of the network. Cyveillance looks like one more initiative that will help honest CJ affiliates earn more of their well deserved commissions. Beware to all dishonest rogue affiliates – Commission Junction Hires Web Detectives:
“The large e-commerce affiliate network known as Commission Junction (CJ) is gearing up a campaign that uses automated searches of the Web to catch dishonest participants.
The network has contracted with Cyveillance, a firm that monitors the online use of trademarked terms, to “spider” the Internet seeking affiliates that generate commissions without legitimately earning them.”
If this works well there could be lots of cookie stuffers and forced clickers that go down. If you are doing any of this, better clean up your act now.
