Disney to Sell Kid PCs Now

Disney to Sell Kid PCs Now

Disney in collaboration with German electronics giant Medion AG is launching a Disney branded personal computer specially designed for kids named Disney Dream Desk PC. Priced at $599 direct the computer include a 2.6-GHz Celeron processor, a CD-RW/DVD combo optical drive, a kid-sized mouse, and a multimedia keyboard and digital pen. The matching 14.1-inch LCD monitor ($299) sports signature Mickey Mouse ears.

Pretty funky indeed! I could not find details of any graphic card in the specification, but considering the kind of games kids play today, it would be top notch too. A Celeron is not in the same league as a Pentium-4 but this configuration would do fine for the targeted audience. The looks definitely will! Disney is also planning to preload the PC with loads of kid’s applications plus tools for internet safety as the PC.

The Dream Desk will be available for purchase through Disney’s catalog and Web site beginning August 12, and exclusively at CompUSA Superstores beginning September 12. Look out for these kids… Even iMac does not look like a Mickey Mouse!
