Facebook’s News Feed algorithm has gone through a number of changes over the years in an attempt to curate the most relevant content. Today the company has rolled out an update designed to give you more control over what you see in News Feed.
Facebook’s News Feed Preferences now have three additional options for filtering through the content you see when you land on the website or open the app.
- Prioritize Friends & Pages: Select which friends and Pages you most want to see content from. They will appear first in News Feed.
- Discover New Pages: Find more Pages to follow based on the types of Pages you’ve indicated you like seeing content from.
- Follow/Unfollow: Stay connected without unfriending people will Facebook’s updated follow/unfollow tool. Unfollowing someone simply prevents them from appearing in News Feed.
These settings can be adjusted at any time by going to the News Feed Preferences section under Settings. They are available today on iOS and coming soon to Android.
