A Google Search Update Appears to Have Occurred on November 10th [DATA]

On November 10th, an update to Google Search appears to have occurred, according to reports on the web and our own data here at Search Engine Journal.

We experienced a notable increase in our own traffic on November 10th, though we decided to wait to see if the traffic increase would be sustained before reporting on a potential update to Google search.

Based on our own data, and what we’re hearing from others, we believe it is possible an update occurred on November 10.

The chart pictured in the screenshot below is from our own Google Analytics, which clearly shows a sustained increase in traffic beginning on November 10.

Other sources of data also suggest there may have been an update to Google search on November 10. For example, the Mozcast tool shows there was an increase in SERP activity on November 10.

Unfortunately it has not all been positive for everyone, with other site owners experiencing a notable drop in organic search traffic.

Have you noticed any significant increase or decrease to your organic search traffic starting on November 10th or later? If so, we’d love it if you could leave a comment letting us know what you’ve been seeing.
