Holiday Online Shopping – Get Ready for a Big Season
Hope everyone is all geared up for a big holiday shopping season. Growth indicators all point to a nice upward swing in online spending and gift shopping this year. Consumers are also starting to shop online earlier than ever with many starting to shop already this month. I hope you all get more than your fair share of traffic and sales for Christmas. According to InternetRetailer.com:
“Nearly 43% of consumers plan to purchase holiday gifts online, up from 38.3% a year ago, according to the National Retail Federation.”
In addition to spending more, consumers are also starting to shop online earlier this year according to a survey in MediaPost :
“… half of consumers surveyed will start their online holiday shopping by the end of this month. More than one-fifth (21%) of consumers surveyed acknowledged that they started their holiday online shopping earlier this year than last.”
Yet another InternetRetailer survey shows online speding on the increase. InternetRetailer.com – Online sales grow 21%. “Online sales for the week ending Oct. 2 grew 21%, reaching $1.56 billion from $1.29 billion a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports.”
