In an interview conducted at SES 2013 in San Francisco, Lucy Bartlett of VigLink leads a discussion about guest blogging.
In addition to being the Marketing Manager at VigLink, Lucy is also a PhD candidate at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She is an experienced research and marketing consultant, advising entities who strive to define themselves in the ethical-consumption industry.
I began the interview by asking Lucy about the state of guest blogging. A lot has changed and Lucy will help get you up to speed in this video:
Here are the key takeaways from the video:
- Lucy says she finds guest bloggers by attending events and approaching knowledgeable people at the events about writing a post for her blog.
- Lucy also suggests approaching established writers about writing a guest post for your blog. If there’s a writer you follow who regularly produces interesting content, build a connection and ask them to contribute a post.
- Lucy says chasing down guest bloggers to follow through with their posts is unavoidable. Setting firm deadlines is the best way to get your content delivered on time.
