Megite today announced the launch of their blog news tracker which tracks all recent posts in a blog with surrounding conversations, like Techmeme or Megite would normally do. The difference of the Megite blog news tracking service is that it only tracks stories and conversations related to the main blog which uses its service.
As an example Megite built a blog news tracker for Search Engine Journal.
A major example is Mashtracker, which Megite put together in partnership with Mashable, the social networking blog.
More from Matthew Chen of Megite :
Mashable and Megite realized that there had to be a better way to explore the conversations around blog posts – particularly for large blogs – than the typical tools such as trackbacks and pingbacks.
Mashtracker allows Mashable readers to focus in on the most discussed stories of the day, while also providing far more visibility for those blogs that make reference to Mashable stories, or related stories around the blogosphere. It discovers the most-discussed articles on the Mashable blog by tracking inbound links and other variables, pushing the hottest headlines to the top of the page.
