Netease, the company that operates popular portal 163.com and is big in offering online games has re-launched their search engine Yodao with some new features like news search.
In July it already replaced Google on their 163.com portal with Yodao but as the China Web 2.0 Review puts it: “it’s common to launch multiple times nowadays.”
The Yodao search box has a prominent place with the tag “New!”.
Yodao will likely not be a threat to no.1 Baidu or no.2 Google at this stage but it’s definitely a good thing to have more competition.
