In an interview conducted at SES 2013 in San Francisco, Brad Flora from Perfect Audience talks about how businesses can retarget their marketing with Facebook News Feed ads.
SEJ’s Murray Newlands began the interview by asking Brad what goes into making a great Facebook News Feed ad. Hear his response in the view below:
Here are some key highlights from the video:
- Ever since Facebook started allowing marketers to run page post ads within the News Feed people have started seeing click-through rates as high as 5%.
- News Feed ads consist of a status update, a 200×200 pixel image, and a link with a headline and description.
- Brad recommends that status updates for ads be conversational, playful, and interactive. Ideally you want to encourage people to click on the link as well as post a comment in response.
- Brad mentions that the companies doing it well generate earned media through getting people to share the ads on their timeline. The more shareable the ad the greater the ROI.
