An email sent from Incisive Media announced that the SES Conference & Expo will be rebranded as ClickZ Live.
The email states:
In a natural transition that recognizes the ever-evolving changes taking place in the digital marketing industry and the more diverse educational needs of today’s marketing community, our global SES Conference and Expo series, will be changing its name and rebranding to ClickZ Live.
The new Clickz Live series will incorporate the many verticals you can find on the ClickZ.com website, including social media, display, mobile, gaming, email, digital TV advertising and marketing, and more.
ClickZ Live will kickoff their series of annual conferences next March in New York City.
Each event will have a particular focus. New York will focus on the latest advertising trends seen on Madison Ave., San Francisco will focus on advanced marketing methods in social media, and Chicago will focus on e-commerce.
History of SES
SES was first known as Search Engine Strategies, it began back in 1999 as the first conference devoted to search engine marketing.
In an attempt to broaden its audience, Search Engine Strategies changed its name to SES Conference & Expo in 2008. Being renamed again as ClickZ Live illustrates a further attempt to position the conference as one that includes more than just search topics.
As longtime SES attendees ourselves, we’re nostalgic about the name change (sniff) but excited to see the brand evolve and reach out to a broader audience.
What are some of your favorite memories of SES? Thoughts on the name change?
