Hello friends and readers at SEJ! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, but I wanted to drop in and say hello, and give some props to John Rampton, who has done a wonderful job over the past month in his new role of Managing Editor at SEJ. John has some really great new ideas, and we’re all looking forward to work together to continue to evolve SEJ in the right direction.
I’m going to be speaking and presenting at some different conferences over the next couple of months, and would like to meet up with SEJ readers and contributors at these events.
SES New York
Next week is SES New York 2013! I will be presenting in a session affectionately dubbed SEO In the Boardroom. The topic for this session will be how to communicate SEO goals, metrics and expectations to executives and the C-suite of your client and or prospect. Having worked with a number of enterprise companies and also consulting with everyone from the in-house SEO to the CMO & CEO level of my clients, I’m looking forward to sharing some real life experiences and tactics to ensure that your are communicating effectively with your point of contact to help make their job easier when presenting to their board or bosses.
This will be a special joint presentation with myself and Seth Besmertnik of Conductor, with Simon Heseltine moderating (poor Simon!).
Pubcon South : New Orleans
Inlate April I will be heading down to one of my favorite cities in America, New Orleans, to speak at Pubcon South. This should be a pretty fun show and the lineup is really exciting. On Tuesday April 23rd I’ll be presenting with my friends Kris Jones & Kenny Hyder on Low Risk Link Portfolio Expansion Strategies then on Thursday the 25th I’ll be doing a Site Review with my buddy and SEJ Advisor Alan Bleiweiss!
SFIMA Pubcon
On May 14th I will be attending SFIMA Pubcon Summit : The Intersection of Search and Social (that name sounds familiar), which is a special one day event in Davie, FL (near Ft. Lauderdale). I will be speaking in a session called All Roads Lead to Home where I will be discussing the importance of authority citations from blogs, coverage, social networks and other forms of online conversation — and making sure that all of these channels drive authority and hopefully traffic back to your website (hub/spoke approach).
This should be a great one day conference and I’m very much looking forward to heading back to South Florida.
Interactivity Digital
Yesterday it was announced that I will be speaking with my friend Greg Boser in a session at ID 2013 about the nuances of building relationships and accounts, and the importance of quality deliverables (along with challenges faced when growing). This should be a great session and I’m looking forward to attending this Interactivity Digital conference. It will be my first time speaking here, but the speaker list is amazing and I have to give props to Gary Henderson for his awesome retargeting campaign for ID 2013. I feel like I see MyCool King’s and Simon Heseltine’s faces on every site I visit!
The format to the conference is very familiar (it literally reminds me of IM Spring Break!) and I’m also looking forward to getting some fishing in with my buddy Todd Malicoat while down in South Florida. Seriously, this conference excites me cause I feel like I’m traveling in a time machine phone booth back to 2008!
If you’re attending any of these conferences please hit me up! I’d like to meet and chat SEO 🙂
