Few things are as important as analytics if you want to succeed on the web – which is probably why Google worked hard to develop a powerful Google Analytics tool. The upcoming version of Analytics, which is still in the open beta stages, includes many new features. One of the more prominent that is now accessible to users is the updated map overlay.
The new map overlay allows users to access province or county data in 170 countries around the world, access mobile reports as it applies to region-by-region access to your site, and and quickly switch between region and city view when looking at the map overlay feature.
Those who haven’t already done so can update to the new version of Google Analytics by using the following steps:
- Log into Analytics as normal.
- In the top-right corner (near your Analytics ID and your login email) you’ll see a red link labeled, “New Version.” Click on this.
- Click “Use this version as my default version” in the same location on the following screen.
You’ll now be able to access the new map overlay feature, as well as numerous other improved elements, by default when you log in.
