V7ndotcom Elursrebmem SEO Contest : Win $4,000 & an iPod

The V7n.com SEO contest is off and running and John Scott & Co. have announced the keywords which must sites must be ranked within the top 5 of Google results in order to win : V7ndotcom Elursrebmem. John says in a post on his V7n forum that the choice of the Elursrebmem keyword indicates “the value this [v7n] community places upon community“, being that Elursrebmem is “Members rule” spelled backwards.

This contest is really starting to heat up outside of the SEO corner of the web and we’re stating to see more and more blogs, authority sites, and new V7ndotcom Elursrebmem domains, wikis, Google Base listings, etc. popping up. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone incorporated the name and set up local listings and business profiles at Yahoo, Amazon and other sites.

The rules for entering the contest are quite simple, in order to qualify for the contest a page must have either a link back to the V7N home page, one of the Official ‘V7ndotcom Elursrebmem’ v7n SEO Contest banners (available here), or the following text “We support v7n.com“. By writing this paragraph the Search Engine Journal has officially entered the Official ‘V7ndotcom Elursrebmem’ v7n SEO Contest.

Links to the v7n.com homepage can be placed in “any manner you wish”, meaning any anchor text you wish, with nofollow, without nofollow, JavaScript, or cloaked. One other additional rule is that the Official ‘V7ndotcom Elursrebmem’ v7n SEO Contest banners can not link to any domain besides v7n.com. They can be unlinked, but cannot point anywhere else.

Originally Mr. Scott’s contest was planned to give $1,000 to the first place recipient, which is a hearty sum. Other sites and ‘v7ndotcom’ members are also chipping in to the contest, as Stoner3221, ShoeMoneyMedia.com, and g00gl3r.com are also offering prizes along with John, which is pushing the grand prize to $4,000 & an iPod. Second prize is $500 from v7n and Third thru Fifth place ranking sites will be offering $100 each.

Good luck to all SEO types and web publishers who enter the contest. Hopefully John’s contest will spread beyond the SEO forum crowd and onto the blogosphere where we might see some alternative sites show up in the rankings.

One question I have for Mr. Scott is if v7ndotcom will be awarding the prize to Wikipedia if they rank within the top 5.

Special welcome to ProBlogger.net and other SEO oriented readers who are interested in winning this $4,000 V7ndotcom Elursrebmem SEO contest!
