Whether you love, dread, or fear Google, there’s no denying that the search engine is one of the most dominant forces in the online world. But, just how dominant is Big G? Well, 92% of smartphones use some sort of Google app, according to the following chart by Statista. We think that could be classified as dominating.
Why is Google such a force to be reckoned with? That’s pretty easy to answer. Google is not only a fast, effective, easy-to-use search engine, it also has features that are difficult for competitors to best. Gmail, Maps, Drive, the Play Store and YouTube are examples of top-notch apps that almost everyone uses. Another reason is Google is constantly investing and improving its network. The company wants to be ahead of everyone else and makes sure its apps are essential and functional. Most importantly, Google has become one of the most recognizable brands in the world. In fact, it’s more than a brand. It’s become a verb synonymous with searching the web.
