Google updates its web IM application on Tuesday with the following cool new features to boot:
- Pop it out now – Google Talk can now be accessed in a pop out window from a link on personalized page,
- Pop it out again – For website owners and bloggers who embed the Google Talk on their site, they now have an option to start a Google Talk Session in a separate window by clicking on Google Talk button.
- Google Talk Sidebar – For Firefox users, they can now have an option to run Google Talk on their sidebar by bookmarking it on Firefox.
- Flickr photo slide show – The coolest upgrade thus far. Aside from running YouTube videos and Picasa Web Album slideshow, Google Talk users can now run photo slideshow from Flickr by pasting its URL into the chat window.
Cool features indeed, eh? For some maybe, but as for me, I still prefer the old simple interface of Google Talk. Pop out window is so not so Web 2.0. It reminds me of the old Geocities sites which annoyed a lot of online users and drove them away to use other free hosting sites.
