Yahoo Games and GameSpot Partner for Gaming Content
Yahoo Games and GameSpot a web source for unbiased gaming information, today announced a partnership through which GameSpot’s comprehensive PC and video game content offering will be provided to Yahoo Games users, starting in the first quarter of 2005.
As video games become increasingly popular among a broader consumer audience, this arrangement will enable Yahoo Games to further expand its content offering into video games, which will complement its already strong offering in casual games. In turn, GameSpot will gain greater exposure before Yahoo’s expansive audience.
GameSpot, a CNET Networks, Inc. property, is a dynamic, editorial Web property which offers reviews, news, and previews of the hottest upcoming games, as well as an expansive database of demos, trailers, screenshots, and game guides.
The property, which engages users with a host of innovative community features and vast array of broadband video content, attracts more than 1.25 million unique visitors per day, primarily men between 18 and 34 years old, who generate 170,000 message board posts, and more than 600,000 on-demand video streams each day.
“Yahoo! Games is the number one casual games site on the Internet, and now we want to become the destination of choice for video gamers,” said Geoff Graber, general manager of Yahoo! Games. “GameSpot content is a key part of our strategy to raise the company to a new level in online games.”
